Dorothy Mae Shanklin, 78, of Fort Collins, Colo. passed away March 19, 2012. She was born Jan. 27, 1934 to Walter and Ida Dorendorf in Southwick, Idaho. Dorothy lived many years in the Bozeman area and married Irvin "Pete" Shanklin in 1984. Later, they resided in California before making their home in Fort Collins.

Dorothy worked for many years as an owner and manager in the restaurant, supper club and hospitality industry. She immensely enjoyed meeting new people every day and she had especially fond memories of her time as owner of Bozeman's Valley View Supper Club where she served luminaries such as Ronald Reagan, Steve McQueen and Ali McGraw. She is survived by her husband, Pete Shanklin; and her children, John (Anna) Ralston of Lewiston, Idaho; Dan (Marianne) Wood of Anaconda, Mont.; and Debbie (Pat) Wensman of Fort Collins. She is also survived by her step-children, Kathy (Paul) Oulman of Forest City, Iowa; Debbie (Art) Albin of Bozeman; and Jim (Teresa) Shanklin of West LaFayette, Ind.; as well as eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Kathy Hage; and her step-daughter, Patty Shanklin.
Cremation has taken place and a memorial and scattering of the ashes will take place in Bozeman in June. Memorial contributions may be made to Peace With Christ Lutheran Church, in care of Allnutt Funeral Service, 650 W. Drake Road, Fort Collins, CO 80526.
