Douglas LeCain Obituary

Douglas Shaw LeCain, 57, passed away peacefully on Dec. 26, 2014, in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. Doug was born in Moscow, Idaho, in 1957 and spent his early years in Missoula, Mont. Doug was a loving son, a great brother, and a wonderful uncle. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Doug loved the outdoors and was a skilled nature photographer and fly fisherman. As a youth he was a talented athlete, especially excelling in basketball, and he continued to follow sports passionately throughout his life. One of Doug's first jobs was as a bus driver for the recently begun Missoula "Mountain Line" service, and the riders on his route often praised him for his friendly and caring service. Some of his happiest years were spent as a "Red Bus" tour driver in Glacier National Park, where he treasured the opportunity to live in and photograph the natural beauty there. After earning his pharmacy technician degree in Missoula, Doug moved to Bozeman, where he worked for many years at the Costco pharmacy. A frequent visitor to nearby Yellowstone National Park, Doug became a passionate advocate for the park's reintroduced wolves. He later transferred to the pharmacy in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, where he continued to take pride in providing kind and patient assistance to clients with medical problems. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Doug's name to the Kootenai Humane Society of Coeur d'Alene.
