THREE FORKS -- Duane L. Hauser, 76, of Three Forks passed away at his home Friday, Aug. 15, 2008.

He was born Dec. 7, 1931 in Ellinwood, Kan. to Louis and Mabel (Meggers) Hauser. Duane was raised and attended school in Ellinwood. At the age of 16 he joined the U.S. Navy and served during the Korean Conflict on the missile launcher U.S.S. 413. Upon returning from the service, he worked in the oil fields in Ellinwood. In 1964 he started Red Tiger Drilling in Colby, Kan. In 1979, he moved his successful business to Manhattan, where it continues to operate today.
Duane enjoyed fishing, hunting and water sports.
He was preceded in death by three sisters and five brothers.
Survivors include his wife, Gerry Hauser, of Three Forks; sons Dan Hauser of Meade, Kan., Gerald Hauser of Belgrade, Brian Hauser of Meade, Kan., and Troy and Debbie Hauser of Three Forks; grandchildren Jamie Hauser, Dani Leafgreen, McKenzie Woodland, Tawnia Hauser, Chance Hauser, Taylor Hauser, and Terry Hauser; step-grandchildren Jake Alcorn and Tabitha Alcorn; nine great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorials can be sent to Bozeman Deaconess Hospice, 915 Highland Blvd., Bozeman, MT, 59715; Headwaters Trails in Three Forks; or the charity of the donor's choice.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. from the K&L Mortuary Chapel in Three Forks, with Rev. David Ford officiating. Interment with military honors will follow in the Fairview Cemetery at Three Forks.
