Edward Joseph Hagl, Jr., 51, went peacefully in his sleep to be with the Lord on July 1, 2014.

Ed was born Dec. 29, 1962, to Edward and Grace Hagl in Honolulu, Hawaii. When Ed was a young child, he and his family moved to Bozeman, where he remained for the rest of his life.

He enjoyed repairing autos, racing cars with friends at the Gallatin Speedway and working in the auto industry, most recently in the parts department at Ressler Motors. Ed also enjoyed camping in his RV, fishing, four-wheeling and spending time with friends.

Ed is preceded in death by his parents. Ed is survived by his sisters, Diana (Michael) McFeters and Debbie (Herb) Reintsma; nephews, Brandon (Elizabeth) Reintsma, Nicholas and Nathan McFeters; and half-sister, Cheri (Don) Hagl-Simonet.

Interment was held at Sunset Hills Cemetery on July 4, 2014.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday, Aug. 2, 2014, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. This is a casual event, taking place at the Bozeman Ponds Pavilion located at 700 N. Fowler Lane, Bozeman, MT 59718. All are invited to come and share memories and stories of Ed's life. A picnic lunch will be served.
