Eileen Theresa Walsh Sebena was born in Butte on Dec. 17, 1922, to Thomas and Bridget Walsh of County Cork, Ireland. Raised in Butte with her brothers and sisters, Eileen grew up during difficult times, yet her strong family ties and Irish heritage helped create a foundation that would carry her through her amazing 84 years on this earth.
The Guest Book is expired.
Eileen's incredible spirit led her from her home in Butte to Anaconda, Las Vegas and then Bozeman. During these years she met her former husband, William "Bill" J. Sebena, with whom she had two sons, Joe and Dan, and a daughter, Susan.
Family was of great importance to Eileen. She devoted much of her time and energy to her children and loved living close to them.
Eileen enjoyed a rewarding professional life. She owned and operated a popular Butte restaurant for many years, and she contributed to the development and success of her sons' asphalt company since 1972.
Researching family genealogy and cooking were just two of Eileen's hobbies. Pasties, sauerkraut and ribs, povatitsa and butter cookies were among her specialties, appreciated by many friends and relatives.
Eileen also took great pleasure in the many years she spent traveling all over California and Nevada with her kids. In addition to these interests, she found strength and comfort in the Catholic church throughout her life.
Eileen was a fiery spirit! Her clever sense of humor, inherent strength of character and steadfast independence contributed to her unforgettable personality. She will be forever missed and eternally a part of the people she touched in her lifetime.
