Eloisa "Sis" Williams Kilgore, 92, of Harrison passed away peacefully at home Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2008.

She was born to Mary and Andy Williams in Alder on Sept. 4, 1915. She spent her childhood on the Belmont Park Ranch with her parents and her brother, Harry.

She was schooled at home through the eighth grade, then attended high school in Dillon and graduated in 1931. Eloisa was able to attend Rollins College in Winter Park, Fla., where she earned a degree in Spanish and French. She then attended one year of graduate school at Columbia University in New York City.

Eloisa married Jess Kilgore on Nov. 8, 1940. They enjoyed 47 of their 61 years of happiness and hard work on their ranch south of Three Forks near the Madison River where they raised their two daughters, MaryLee and Nance.

Eloisa loved her family and the life on the ranch. She enjoyed the blessing of her two grandchildren, Nancy and Travis, and was an active part of their childhood as the families closely lived on the ranch. She and Jess moved to Harrison in 1994 after selling the ranch and spent seven more years together before Jess passed away.

Eloisa lived a full life and was loved by many and will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her children, MaryLee (Kilgore) Cope of Three Forks, and Nance (Kilgore) Myers of Harrison; her grandchildren, Nancy Cope of Lafayette, Ind., and Travis (Renae) Myers of Helena.

Eloisa was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother, and sister-in-law.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 6, at K&L Mortuary Chapel in Harrison.

Memorials may be made to Shodair Children's Hospital in Helena.
