Our dear mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Esther Danhof, went home to be with her Lord on June 12, 2007, at the age of 91. She was born to Joe and Minnie (Hyink) Elings on March 18, 1916, and lived and grew up in the Manhattan area, graduating from Manhattan High School in 1937.

On June 20, 1939, she married Joe Danhof, and they made their home in Amsterdam for the next 40 years, before moving to Churchill. They were blessed with six children, five of whom are living: Kenneth and Beverly (Vander Ark) Danhof of Bozeman; Eleanor and George Den Hartigh of Churchill; Warren (deceased); Norma and Jim Heys of Four Corners; Charles of Billings; and Dean and Roz (Logterman) Danhof of Churchill; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Also surviving are her sister, Dena Hokanson; brother-in-law, Leonard Reed; and in-laws, Tom and Fenna (Danhof) Kamp.
Her husband of 63 years preceded her in death in 2002.
Esther was a member of Manhattan Christian Reformed Church and her family is thankful for her life of faithfulness to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and her prayers for each of her family members as well as her many friends.
Memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, June 18, at Manhattan Christian Reformed Church. Private family graveside service will be held.
In lieu of gifts, the family has asked that donations be made in their mother's name to the Manhattan Christian School Foundation, 8000 Churchill Road, Manhattan, MT 59741.
