Florence Marie Hamilton Stewart passed away peacefully on Monday, Aug. 31, 2009, at the age of 92.

Florence lived independently until July of this year, maintaining her home and preparing her meals. After failing health, she moved to Gallatin Rest Home.

Florence was born on June 15, 1917, in Manhattan to James and Nora Bridgewater Arnold. Florence attended schools in Central Park, Great Falls and Wilsall where she met her husband, John. They were married July 30, 1934, and lived on the Hamilton Ranch near Wilsall until 1948, when they moved to Bozeman. They had three daughters, Betty, Carlene and Jeanie.

In 1975, Florence married Raymond Stewart. They spent many years traveling south for the winters and spending summers at Canyon Ferry Lake.

Florence always took the time to enjoy her family and friends, sharing coffee and treats. She was an avid homemaker, loved the outdoors, bowling, flowers, and doing her arts and crafts. She maintained her beauty by religiously applying her makeup and doing her hair daily. Florence truly loved life, animals, and always found something to keep her occupied.
