Our Mother and Grandmother went to be with her Lord on April 21, 2015. Her life has not ended, but her work on Earth is done; a life well lived with grace and love. Frances was born to John "Henry" and Marcia (Webster) Quade in a farmhouse southeast of Clyde Park, Montana, on Nov. 16, 1920. In 1927, they moved to the Four Corners farm where she attended school at Monforton. She loved her turkeys and chickens and spoke often of her first garden at age seven and of baking her first pie at age four; a love she kept all her life helping many as a 4-H, Scout and Home Demonstration leader. She was active in her church and raised her six children to do the same. She kept a garden that was the envy of the neighborhood and the pantry and freezer full of produce. She was always willing to share with those in need, asked for nothing, yet gave everything and never complained.

Frances met her husband, Earl, in the registration line at Montana State College. They were married Dec. 20, 1943. In 1948, they settled in Great Falls where she lived the next 54 years. Mom and Dad loved to square dance and travel. They spent many wonderful years Snowbirding in Arizona. In 2002, she moved back to the Four Corners farm. Her last five years were spent at Highgate Senior Living.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl; her sister, Jane Gates; and her parents. She is survived by her children; Lance, Larry (Lea), Kathleen Fisher, Colleen (Dan) Weir, Fred (Barb) and Les (Sharon); 15 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Saturday, April 25 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Dokken-Nelson Funeral Service. A Celebration of her Life will be held Sunday, April 26 at 1:30 p.m. at Dokken-Nelson with interment to follow at Sunset Hills Cemetery. A reception at 113 Durston Rd. will follow the interment.

Memorials may be given in her name to Montana Association for the Blind, P.O. Box 465, Helena, MT 59624 or LOVE, Inc., P.O. Box 7117, Bozeman, MT 59771.
