Frances Nevin passed away Friday, July 30, 2010, at the age of 95, due to natural causes.

The oldest daughter of five children born to Edith and Charles Day, Frances was born in Colorado but soon moved to Montana. She graduated from Billings High in 1933. She worked as a district clerk for the Farm Security Administration in Billings then transferred to Big Timber where she met her husband Sayre "Si" Nevin who she married in 1939.
Later, in Big Timber, she worked as a district clerk for the Forest Service, and was transferred to Bozeman in 1961. Her hobbies were fishing, square-dancing, and she was a talented seamstress.
Frances is preceded in death by her husband and all her brothers and sisters.
She is the mother of two children, and is survived by daughters, Cheryll Nevin and Jan (Everett) Thornton; grandchildren, Tara (Dirck) Tomac, Randy (Michelle) Thornton, Shane Thornton, and Shawna Pretty Bear; and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was well cared for by Hospice of South West Montana and Highgate Memory Cottage.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 3, at Hope Lutheran Church.
