Frank Smith, 80, passed away at his home on Sept. 20.

He was born in Philbrook, Minn. on April 1, 1932. When he was 4 years old, August of 1936, his family moved to Belgrade and bought a farm. He attended school in the Dry Creek School and later in Manhattan. He spent most of his adult life in Ennis where his three children were born, Bertha, Ron and Peggi. Frank spent many years working on various ranches in the Ennis area. He has since returned to Belgrade and has been living back on the original homestead where he grew up.
Frank is survived by daughter, Bertha (Ted) Gibson; and son, Ron (Tami) Smith; his four sisters, Margaret (Bill) Chaney, Joyce (Don) Dick, Alice (Art) Perry, and Elizabeth Emery, and his two brothers, Al (Norma) Smith, and Lyman (Billie) Smith and countless grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Frank was preceded in death by his daughter, Peggi; and his parents, Reid and Olga Rusch Smith; his brother, Bob and a brother-in-law, Phil Townsend.
Graveside services will be held at the Dry Creek Cemetery on Monday, Sept. 24, at 2 p.m. with a gathering at the Dry Creek School following the service.
