Franklyn Sheldon Uhl, 86, passed away peacefully at his home in Bozeman on Friday, May 23, 2008.

Franklyn was born Feb. 5, 1922 in Clyde Park to Henry J. and Erma Uhl. He graduated from Clyde Park High School (class of 1940) and Northwestern Business School in Spokane, WA.

Beulah Stene became Franklyn's bride on Sept. 13, 1942. Franklyn spent 20 years working for the Montana Flour Mill, first in the offices in Great Falls and then as manager of the Montana Elevator in Bozeman. He worked 10 years for Imperial Financial Services and retired from Phillips Book Store in 1984.

Franklyn is survived by his wife, Beulah; sisters Marcia Bright of Elk Point, S.D., and Mary Smith of Livingston; grandson Mike (Lori) of Portland, Ore.; granddaughters Sandra (Steve) Paglieri of Los Alamos, N.M., Britt (Alex) Ide of Boise, Idaho, Kirsten (Terry) Lentsch of Katy, Texas; and eight great-grandchildren. Preceding him in death were his parents, his son Franklyn Stene Uhl and his daughter Jeanne Lou Peschke.

At his request no services will be held. Memorials may be made in his name to the Rocky Mountain Hospice, 301 Edelweiss Drive, Suites 5 and 6, Bozeman, 59718.
