Frederick Ennist, a longtime resident of Pony, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, Feb. 17, 2008.

He served in the U.S. Navy from 1945 to 1946, and spent most of his life as an avid outdoorsman, working as an outfitter and guide for big game hunters.

He was preceded in death by a daughter.

Mr. Ennist is survived by a son and seven daughters, many grandchildren, and the anticipated arrival of several great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 22, at K&L Mortuary Chapel in Harrison, with the Rev. Joe Miller officiating. Interment will follow in Valley View Cemetery in Pony. Viewing will be Thursday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m., at K&L Mortuary in Harrison.
