THREE FORKS - Gary Patrick McLees passed away Sept. 6, 2010, following a struggle with pancreatic cancer. He was born Nov. 28, 1941, in Deer Lodge to Doris (O'Rourke) and Howard McLees.

Gary attended and graduated from Three Forks schools. He attended colleges in Dillon and Billings.

At Rocky Mountain College in Billings, he met his future wife, May Petersen. They were married Aug. 4, 1962. After college, they returned to Three Forks where he lived the rest of his life. They had two children, Blair and Brooke.

Gary coached Little League baseball and Little League basketball. He saw almost all of the games his children participated in during their high school and college years.

Gary worked for Ideal Cement at Trident for 30 years.

He is survived by his wife, May; his son, Blair and daughter-in-law, Tina and his granddaughter, Devyn of Phoenix, Ariz.; his daughter, Brooke and his grandson, Dalton of Phoenix. His children and grandchildren were the shining lights of his life.

He is also survived by his sister, Jen Milner and her husband, Skip and their children, Nancy and Jim. He is survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Memorials may be made to the Three Forks Trail System; to Three Forks High School sports; or to a designation of the donor's choice.

The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at The Cancer Center. The Hospice of Southwest Montana was also wonderful. We appreciate everything they all did for Gary and all his family.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at the United Methodist Church in Three Forks, the Rev. Linda Fritz officiating. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Three Forks. Viewing will be from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday at K&L Mortuary Chapel in Three Forks.
