Jan. 21, 1933 – Aug. 9, 2015
On Aug. 9, 2015, Grace Elizabeth Tedmon triumphed over Alzheimer's; leaving the disease trapped in an empty shell while she escaped into the arms of God. Grace was born on Jan. 21, 1933, to William Frederick Herring and Grace Liquorish Herring in the Sub District of Shoreditch North East, County of Y, London, England.

As a young girl, Grace saw firsthand the horrors of war during the battle of Britain. She survived World War II, but carried emotional and spiritual scars from the experience. She did not let those hurts stop her from growing into a beautiful and vibrant young woman who caught the eye of an American Airman. She married that Yank, Donald Eugene Tedmon, on April 10, 1954, in St. Mary's Church, Hemel Hempstead, England. Together they served in the Air Force in England, Italy, Okinawa, and numerous bases around the United States. Along the way, they had seven children; one who died shortly after birth and six they raised.

Grace was a devout believer in Jesus as her savior and was dedicated to teaching children about God. Her efforts as a GA (Girls in Action) leader earned her the nickname Amazing Grace. She also taught Vacation Bible School and Sunday school, and trained other adults in children's ministry. She was heavily involved in missions outreach to disenfranchised children.

Grace valiantly fought her battle with Alzheimer's with courage, dignity, and her stiff British upper lip. Never once did she complain or pity herself. She never allowed what she could no longer do to discourage her from doing what she could.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Bill Herring, an infant son Christopher Tedmon, and a grandson Lance Tedmon.

Grace is survived by her husband Donald Tedmon. Also, her sisters Doreen Pearce, Barbara Daniels, and Steve Herring all from England.

These are her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren:
