Helen Marie Aldrich, 78, passed away Sept. 12, 2007, at St. Peters Hospital in Helena of complications following surgery.
The Guest Book is expired.
She was born May 24, 1929, in the Gallatin Valley to Sanford A. and Dollie Ford Hamilton.
She attended school in Three Forks, and it was there she met James William Aldrich. They married Jan. 27, 1946, and moved to the Aldrich Homestead out of Logan after Bill returned home from military duty in Japan. They later moved to Three Forks, where Bill worked at Trident and then for the Milwaukee Railroad.
Helen worked for Hamilton Grocery Store and other businesses in town. They had four children. In 1965 they moved to Kansas, where Bill worked as a carpenter. They followed construction jobs until Bill's retirement.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill; brothers, Mel, Dennis and Sanford Jr. Hamilton.
Helen is survived by her daughters, Denise (Don) Ypma of Belgrade, Donna Lane of Townsend; Gary Aldrich of Townsend, and Mike (Teri) Aldrich of Billings; 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Betty Korber of Billings.
She loved gardening and grew many beautiful flowers and enjoyed spending as much time as she could outside. She also enjoyed reading, word puzzles, camping and walking her special little dog. One of her greatest pleasures was family get-togethers.
Memorial services were held Sept. 15 at Canyon Ferry Mansion Rose Chapel in Townsend, with Pastor Charlie Christensen of Three Forks officiating.
Townsend Funeral Chapel has assisted the family at this time.
