Herbert Glen Coolidge, 83, passed away on Friday, June 15, 2012 at his home in Bozeman. He was born Dec. 9, 1928 in Lewistown, Mont. to Glen and Cecilia (Crowley) Coolidge.

Herb grew up and attended school in Lewistown graduating from Fergus County School. He then went on to serve his country in the United States Air Force.
He married Helene Eschenbacher in Froid, Mont. on October 24, 1954.
Herb and Helene owned and operated an A&W Restaurant in Centralia, Wash. for several years before deciding to come home to Montana. Herb worked as a barber while living in Froid and as a custodian for the schools in both Medicine Lake and Moore, Mont. He retired from his custodian job in Moore and moved to Lewistown in 1990.
During his retirement years he found great delight in being a host at the McDonalds Restaurant in Lewistown.
Herb enjoyed hunting, fishing and wood working. He made wooden doll carriages and strollers as well as wooden canes. He also tumbled rocks which he used to make jewelry.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Helene; daughter, Susan Allen, who passed away the day after his death; and sister, Delores Cauley and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Christ the King Lutheran Church in Bozeman. A memorial service will also be held in Lewistown at a time to be announced. Should friends desire, memorials may be made to Christ the King Lutheran Church.
