Herbert Henry Steingruber of Three Forks, passed away Oct. 16, 2008.

He was born May 7, 1929 in Willow Creek, the son of Frederick and Marie (Hager) Steingruber. After Frederick passed away, Herbert and his three siblings were raised by Marie on the family ranch. Herbert attended Willow Creek High School and later entered the Marine Corps. After returning from the service Herbert resumed ranching and farming in a partnership with brothers John and Walt. Herbert later married Joanne Syverson, a school teacher from Billings, on Dec. 28, 1956. Herbert was a faithful husband and father for 52 years. He loved to hunt and fish with his family. He was involved in his local church and loved to spend most of his time on the family ranch.
Survivors include his brother Walt Steingruber; his sister Jeanette Hetu and her husband Paul; his wife Joanne Steingruber of Three Forks; his daughter Miriam McIntire and her husband Michael of Lake Park, Minn.; his sons Dale Steingruber and his wife Marilyn of Lewiston, Idaho, and Mark Steingruber and his wife Lisa of Three Forks; and ten grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 21 at Three Forks Christian Center. Interment will follow at Willow Creek Cemetery.
