Jack Arnold went home to be with his heavenly father on Aug. 8, 2009. He was 65.
The Guest Book is expired.
Jack was born on May 13, 1944, to Ralph and Ida Arnold of Manhattan. He grew up and went to school in Manhattan, where he met the love of his life and wife of 47 years, Patricia Matheson. They lived in the Gallatin Valley and had four children: Cynthia, Robert, Lisa and Sheri.
Jack worked in heavy highway construction and excelled as a mechanic, welder and equipment operator. He enjoyed his job as a mechanic at Big Sky Asphalt, where he retired in 2007.
Dad loved the outdoors. He picked mushrooms during the short Merrell season, chased down the big buck or perfect bull elk, fly fished at Hyalite during the spring and summer, and ice-fished in the freezing cold at Canyon Ferry.
Jack is survived by his wife Patricia of Anceny, son Robert of Ore., daughter Lisa of Bozeman, daughter Sheri of Wash., 10 grandchildren, one great-grandson, brothers Don, Bob and Gary, sister Louise Bates, and 10 nieces and nephews.
Jack was preceded in death by daughter Cynthia Lynn, both of his parents, and brother Kenneth.
Dad went home peacefully, surrounded by his family. He will be missed dearly. There will be private burial.
