James "Jim" Bruce Wamboldt passed away with his family by his side on March 20, 2010, after a battle with brain cancer.

James was born March 13, 1961. He graduated from Leavenworth High School in 1979 and joined the Air Force in 1981. After a career in the Air Force, Jim received a B.S. in Construction Engineering from Montana State University in 1999. Jim was just short of receiving his M.S. in Civil Engineering at the onset of his disease.

Jim was devoted to his family and friends who in turn loved him dearly. His humor and kindness will be missed by all who knew him.

James is survived by his wife, Kathleen "Katie" Wamboldt of Jacksonville, Ore., whose friendship and marriage spanned more than 30 years; and his daughters, Shasta (Forbes) and grandson Merrick McClain Jonasson of Medford, Ore., Kelsie (David) Reid of Klamath Falls, Ore. Jim was proud to introduce both of his sons-in-laws as his sons. He is also survived by his mother and father, Virginia Holman of Bozeman, and Lawrence Wamboldt of Lansing, Kan.; his brother, Mark (Lori) Wamboldt of Smithville, Mo.; brothers-in-law, John (Teri) Weber of Gold Beach, Ore., and Chief Petty Officer Steve Weber, USCG, Chetco River Station, Brookings, Ore.; as well as aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

At James' request, cremation has taken place through Perl Funeral Home in Medford, Ore. A celebration of Jim's life is being planned for a later date.
