Jay Miller, 49, passed away at home Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2012. He was born April 5, 1962 in Mill Valley, Calif.

On April 7, 2000, Jay married Wanda Kay Beal. They had no children except for their special little Shih Tzu, Montana Max.

Jay's professional life was spent as a hearing healthcare practitioner in California and Montana. Jay was proud that he changed thousands of his patients' lives by improving their hearing. His deep empathy for them improved the quality of their lives. He was board certified and licensed in the state of California and Montana.

Jay loved life, had a sunny personality and a great laugh. He was smart and funny with a great sense of humor. He loved the outdoors and biked, camped and fished. Jay grew up surrounded by the love of his Doberman Pinschers and Burmese cats. Jay said he never thought he would like a small dog but late in life fell in love with his special little Shih Tzu, Montana Max.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Marcella Harrison; grandfather, James Jensen; and sister, Maryn Lee Beck.

Jay is survived by his wife, Wanda Kay; and Montana Max. Jay is also survived by his mother, Marci Jensen-Middlebrook (Jack Middlebrook); father, Dr. Grant Miller; sisters, Shawna Beck Sullivan (James Sullivan), Riki Beck, Nancy Fagan (Pat Fagan); brothers, Steve Miller and Mike Miller; nephews, Walker James Sullivan, and Grant Fagan; four uncles, many cousins and Wanda Kay's family.

A celebration of Jay's life will be held at a later date.
