Jeffrey Willis Reising, 52, of Bozeman and Waterloo, Mont., died Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2008, in Bozeman.

Jeff was born to Joseph and Betty Reising (nee Sexton) on June 28, 1955, in Cincinnati, Ohio. He graduated from Summit County High School in Dillon, Colo., in 1973.

He became a general contractor, forming Rising Structures in Seattle, Wash., in 1984. He relocated to Montana in 1995 and was active in construction in both Bozeman and greater Montana. He also owned and operated the Perry Canyon Ranch in Waterloo, Mont., since 1980.

An avid outdoorsman, Jeff loved the hunting, skiing and motorcycling Montana offered. He was an avid fan of highpower competition shooting and ran the Headwater Rifle Club matches in addition to competing in matches throughout Montana and Idaho.

His love of outdoor sports carried over to his dedication to teaching young shooters and hunters. He also was active in the Bridger Ski Foundation in helping to mold the next generation of Montana alpine ski racers.

His love of his family and of the outdoors sustained him through an eight-year battle with cancer right to the end as he continued to hunt and ski and shoot and ride his motorcycles through December 2007.

Jeff felt blessed to be able to live in Montana, and we were equally blessed to have had the chance to be around Jeff. He will be deeply missed, but never forgotten by all of us.

Jeff is survived by his wife, Tara; daughter, Lillie; and son, Will.

A service celebrating Jeff's life will be held Monday, Jan. 14, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Beall Park Recreation Center, 415 N. Bozeman Ave.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Jeff's honor would be appreciated to either Equinox Theatre Co., 587-0737; or to the Bridger Ski Foundation, 587-2445.

Arrangements are in the care of Dokken-Nelson Funeral Service.
