Jim McLeod went to be with his newfound Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Aug. 26, 2013 in Mesa, Ariz. after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born May 26, 1938 in Kalispell, Mont. and after a stellar high school career in Havre was a member of the MSU Bobcats 1956 National Championship football team and received recognition as All-American Honorable mention running back and defensive back. Jim married his high school sweetheart, Ardy, who ironically was a UM Grizzly cheerleader.

Jim was an amazingly successful teacher and coach in Cheyenne, Wyo. and coached 20 state championship teams. Jim was a three time Fulbright Scholar; India 1973, Pakistan 1978 and China 1985.
He served as the Contestant Chairman for Cheyenne Frontier Days and as a member of the USA Olympic Committee Delegate Assembly. He also was loved serving as a Special Olympics coach and worked for the Denver Broncos for 25 years as a spotter.
He also taught for two years in the Marshall Islands and worked as a sports therapist in Mesa, Ariz. where he retired.
He is survived by his wife, Ardy; sons, Mike (Vicki), Pat (Tammy) and Mack and 10 grandchildren – and brothers, Bob, Gene and Jack.

A public memorial service will be held at Broadway Christian Church in Mesa, Ariz. on Nov. 16, 2013 at 10 a.m.
