Dear Dad:
You left the world the same as you entered it, on your own terms. You were the firstborn son of Wallace Royal and Tora (Engberg) Diteman. Eight years later your brother, Wallace, followed, and eight more years, your sister, Susan Watson, was born. Both survive you.
You married Patricia Storey, who preceded you in death. From that union you have three surviving children, Deborah (Don) Phillips, Mitchell (Dixie) Diteman, and Shelley (David) Morrow.
Dad, you loved your politics and openly shared your views. You read everything you could and shared your opinion, wanted or not.
Dad, you were a patriot and as tough as they come. Thirty years in the National Guard taught you how to fight. This last battle just couldn't be won.
We all miss you, but finally, no more wheelchairs, no more canes, and no more pain.
Love, Deborah, Mitchell, Shelley, John (Deanna) Diteman, Joey (Jody) Brown, Ambure (John) Thorn, Benjamin Morrow, Kelsey Phillips, and your five great-grandchildren.
