Joseph J. Godla, 80, passed away on Monday July 2, 2007, in Sun City, Ariz. He was born July 31, 1926, in Monessen, Pa., the son of John Godla and Mary Lengel.

He graduated from Monessen High School in 1944 and then the University of Pittsburgh in 1949.
He is a World War II U.S. Army veteran, serving from 1944 to 1946. He retired in 1989 as an engineer and was a long-time employee for Pleuss-Staufer Industries (OMYA) in Chester, Vt.
He is survived by his wife, Lorraine of Surprise, Ariz.; daughter, Gail Flack of Hardin; sons, Joseph of New York, N.Y., Jon of Tehachapi, Calif., and Steve of Crescent City, Calif.; brothers, Frank of Perryopolis, Pa., and Louis of McLean, Va.; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
