June Jewel Weigel passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2010, while under the great care of the Gallatin Rest Home and Bozeman Deaconess Hospice.
The Guest Book is expired.
June was born June 15, 1925, in Great Falls to Roscoe C. and Mathilda Lots. They named her June for the month she was born and gave her the middle name of Jewel, as they believed she was one. She proved them correct over her lifetime as a wonderful daughter, wife, mother and grandmother.
June graduated from Great Falls High School in 1943. She met and married Lloyd E. Weigel in 1943 during World War II, when he was stationed in Great Falls. June would say, "I met him in September, dated him in October and married him in November." June and Lloyd remained in Great Falls and raised four children, Barbara, Susan, Richard, and Linda. They were married for 49 years.
June was very active in her churches. She was past president of Church Women United of Great Falls, past president of W.S.C.S. at First Methodist Church, past president of W.S.C.S. at Christ United Methodist Church, and president of North Central District of the Women's Society of Christian Service of the Methodist Church in 1965. Her past employers included Woolworth's, Tribune, P.O. News, Book and Gift Store, and the O'Connor Funeral Home. She loved playing pinochle.
June is survived by her four children: Barbara (Richard) Barry of Central Point, Ore., Susan (Norman) Nichelson of Great Falls, Richard (Darla) Weigel of Riverton, Utah, and Linda (Chuck) Busta of Bozeman. She has many nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren from the West Coast to the East Coast.
June was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd; parents, Roscoe and Mathilda Lots; brothers, Robert and George V. Lots; and her sister, Helen G Furlong.
Cremation is being handled under the direction of Dokken-Nelson Funeral Service in Bozeman.
At June's request, there will be no services.
