Kathi "Kate" was born in Livingston on Feb. 5, 1953, a twin daughter to Jean Berg Ellison and William (Bill) Ellison. She passed from this world on May 15, 2008, in White Sulphur Springs, at age 55 from emphysema and related causes.
The Guest Book is expired.
She and her twin sister, Kristin "Kris," graduated from White Sulphur Springs High School in 1971. Kathi then attended and graduated from the National College of Business in Rapid City, S.D.
She moved to Bozeman and worked in an office for Montana Power until her marriage to Marc Bridges in 1977. Kathi attended a school of cosmetology in Great Falls during the time she and Marc lived in Great Falls. They later moved to Missoula, and Kathi worked in the office for the Montana Highway Patrol for a time. Marc's work took them to Bozeman and on to Helena. In Helena, their daughter, Alysha Mae, was born in 1991.
Later Marc and Kathi divorced, and Kathi moved back to Missoula for several years. She returned to White Sulphur a year ago to live, due to her failing health.
Kathi is survived by her daughter, Alysha Bridges; her mother, Jean Ellison; twin sister, Kris (Howie) Nydam of Billings; brother, Rick (Joanna) Ellison of Gallatin Gateway; and her sister, Becky Johnston of White Sulphur; as well as her stepmother, Phyllis Ellison Newman. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews; an aunt, Beth Berg; and numerous cousins.
She was preceded in death by her father, Bill Ellison; grandparents; brother-in-law, Don Johnston; and several aunts and uncles.
Cremation has taken place. A graveside memorial service for Kathi will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, May 23, at Mayn Cemetery, with a coffee to follow at the Senior Center.
