Larry Robert Morris (Bozeman) passed away at home on Wednesday, Feb. 24, 2016. Larry was born to Carroll and Eva Morris on Nov. 13, 1952. He spent his early years on a dairy farm near Potsdam, New York, followed by short stints in Mississippi and California.

At the age of 11, Larry and family arrived in Bozeman and never left. For the next 52 years Larry took full advantage of his love for Montana and all things outdoors. Always accompanied by family and friends, he adventured throughout the state rodeoing, hunting, camping and riding horses and motorcycles. Larry loved adventure but treasured, even more, sharing those adventures with the ones he loved.

In September 1974 at Soldiers Chapel, Larry married his high school sweetheart, Joa Alexander. Inseparable from the day they were married, together they created a beautiful and loving family. A totally devoted father, Larry's life revolved around the love for his two children, Justin and Lara.

Adventures aside, Larry was a self-made man. Starting from scratch, he built Grizzly Refrigeration into a full-fledged business. Always loyal to his customers, he was well respected throughout the community for his honest, timely, and expert service.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Carroll and Eva; his step-dad, Joe Calderon; and his brother, Colin.

He is survived by his sister, Sharon Smith of East Helena; wife, Joa; son, Justin (Deanna) Morris of Bozeman; daughter, Lara (Jake) Coe of Bozeman; and granddaughter and grandson, Payton and Orion.

Services will be held at the Dokken-Nelson Funeral Service, 113 S. Willson Ave., Friday, March 4, at 1 p.m. A reception in Larry's honor will be held immediately following at 25 Wheeler Mountain Way, on the East side of Highway 191 between Four Corners and Gallatin Gateway.

Larry, a longtime member of the NRA, loved his guns and spent many an hour shooting with family and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made in Larry's name to the Manhattan Wildlife Association, P.O. Box 4460, Bozeman, MT 59772.
