JACKSON, Calif. -- Lloyd "Dale" Badgley passed away Monday, Dec. 17, 2007, in Jackson, Calif., at the age of 89. Dale was born Oct. 14, 1918, to William and Harriet (Norman) Badgley in Roundup, Mont.

On Nov. 23, 1953, Dale married the love of his life, Orphia Johnson, in Oakland, Calif. Dale and Orphia have made Amador County their home for the past 32 years.
Dale was a very adventurous man who loved to travel anywhere and everywhere. He and some friends pioneered the ARTS transportation service for Amador County; it was his job to design the driving routes. Dale was also a proud member of the Henry Clay Masonic Lodge. His family describes him as a fun loving man who never lost his sense of humor.
Dale is survived by his adoring wife of 54 years, Orphia of Sutter Creek, Calif.; siblings, Beth Badgley of Palo Alto, Calif., Bill and Carol Badgley of Dayton, Wyo., Roberta and Bill Wachsmuth of Mt. View, Calif., and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Dokken-Nelson Sunset Chapel. Interment with Masonic Rites will follow at Sunset Hills Cemetery.
