Lloyd Carl Rixe, Ph.D. 76 of Lantana, Texas passed away Thursday, March 8, 2012 in Denton Regional Medical Center. He was born May 16, 1935 in Lewistown, Mont. to Ben F. and Vera Bussey Rixe. He married Fae Ferro on June 22, 1958 in Billings. He held a number of positions including high school teacher, university professor and financial planner. In addition, he ran his own economic and aviation consulting firm for 20 years.

His civic activities included Council of Economic Advisors for the governor of Montana, school board chairman and board member of the Bozeman School District, taught Bethel Bible study at Presbyterian Church in Bozeman, honored as an outstanding professor at Montana State University, longtime member of the MSU Bobcat Booster Association and chairman of the Chamber of Commerce of Bozeman.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday, March 14, 2012 at 3 p.m. in the chapel of DeBerry Funeral Directors, Denton, Texas.

He is survived by his wife, Fae Rixe of Lantana; sons, Ben Rixe and wife, DeeDee of Sammamish Wash., Milo Rixe and wife M.J. of Keller Texas, and Neil Rixe of Coupeville, Wash.; and seven grandchildren, Scott, Jeff, Margaret, Andrew, Nathan, Emily and Madison. He is preceded in death by his parents and a grandson.
