Lucille Mutz Wiest, 89, passed away June 7, 2012 at the Bozeman Deaconess Hospital, after a brief illness.

Lucille was born February 28, 1923. Her parents were William and Edith (Baker) Mutz of Great Falls, where her dad worked for the Great Northern Railroad. She attended schools in Pendroy, Shelby and Lewistown, before returning to Great Falls to finish her education and training to become an x-ray technician.

In 1948, she married Otto Wiest in Great Falls. They farmed east of Brady and made their home in Conrad. In 1991, Lucille moved back to Great Falls to be near her sisters, and lived there until 2007 when she moved to Bozeman to be near her granddaughter and family.

She had the greatest love for her grandchildren, and was so proud of being a flower gardener. She also loved spending time at Duck Lake and Glacier Park.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and sisters, Betty McKay, Gail Topel, and Druscilla Soha.

Lucille is survived by her daughter, Debbie Buckingham; granddaughter, Kelli Buckingham (James) Meyer, and great-grandson, Riley, all of Bozeman.

Cremation has taken place. There will be a private interment at a later date in the Hillside Cemetery in Conrad, next to her husband, Otto, who passed away in 1990.

Arrangements are in the care of Dokken-Nelson Funeral Service.
