Lyle Edwin Fulbright (1938 - 2007)

Obituary
The Guest Book is expired.

Lyle Edwin Fulbright, 68, passed away Monday morning after a long, courageous battle with heart disease.
Lyle was born April 28, 1938, in Conrad to Clarence (Pete) and Helen Fulbright. They moved to Ronan in 1943, where Lyle attended first through ninth grade. In 1953 the family moved to Hobson, and Lyle graduated from Hobson High School in 1956.
He enlisted in the U.S. Navy until medically discharged.
On Sept. 16, 1957, he married Mary Sue Matzinger and they lived as man and wife for what would have been 50 years this September. She faithfully cared for him during his long illness. They had five children. In 1963 they came to Bozeman and then to Belgrade where they were at home.
Lyle loved the woods and did logging for many years. He started truck driving and drove for City Transfer. He was very proud to have been one of the two to move Chet Huntley from New York to Big Sky. Missing his family, he got a job with M & M Ready Mix and then moved up to management. In 1985 he retired due to failing health.
He loved hunting with his sons and listening to his daughter sing. He loved playing cards and hugging his grandchildren.
Lyle is survived by his wife, Mary Sue; son, Philip (Agnes "Sam") of Belgrade; daughter, Lynn (Jeff) West of Belgrade; son, Robert (Kim) of Billings; son, Donald of Belgrade; brother, Roland (Dorothy) of Great Falls; nine grandchildren: Justin (A.J.), Matthew (Nicole), Sara Fulbright, Annie (Chad), Zac, Eliza West, Ashley, Marisa, and Joshua Lyle Fulbright; brothers-in-law, Tim (Paula) Matzinger, Denny (Dee) Matzinger, Mark (Eileen) Matzinger; sister-in-law, Pam (Dean) Stout; and numerous nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed by all of them.
He was preceded in death by his mother, father, and son, Lyle Dean Fulbright.
A vigil service will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 1, at Dahl Funeral Chapel. Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 2, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
