Lynda Ensign, 72, of Manhattan, passed into heaven's glory on Thursday, Dec. 18, 2014, after a long courageous battle with cancer. She was a strong woman of faith who loved her savior, Jesus Christ. Lynda focused her life on God and family.

Lynda was born in Tucson, Ariz., Nov. 28, 1942, the daughter of Russell and Phyllis (Albin) Balzer. She grew up in the Portland, Ore. area and graduated from high school in Gresham, Ore. She earned a diploma at Multnomah School of the Bible, and while at Multnomah she met her husband, LeRoy. They were married following graduation in 1964, and enjoyed over 50 years of marriage.
Lynda loved her husband, daughter, son, grandchildren and great-granddaughter deeply. She partnered with her husband in youth, camping, pastoral, and Christian schools in the Portland, Ore.; Bozeman, Mont.; and Seattle, Wash. areas. She also worked at U.S. Bank, Portland, and 1st Bank, Bozeman for a number of years.
Lynda is survived by her husband, LeRoy; daughter, Rebecca (Jeffrey) Scogin, grandchildren, Austin, Schaelin, Madelaine, and Chloe; son, Jonathan, grandson, Kade, granddaughter, Kristy; Ada Marsh and son, Kaden. She is also survived by her mother, Phyllis; brothers, Dennis and Russell Balzer; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Lynda's example of faith in a number of health trials was an example to all on the importance of a faith relationship with God. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. The family wishes to thank the University of Washington Cancer Center, the Bozeman Cancer Center (Dr. Anne Castillo), the staff of Rocky Mountain Hospice and the staff of Parkhaven Assisted Living in Manhattan for the outstanding care they gave Lynda.

Graveside services will be held Tuesday, Dec. 23 at 1:30 p.m. at Meadow View Cemetery in Manhattan. Memorial services will be held Saturday, Dec. 27 at 11 a.m. at Dry Creek Bible Church in Belgrade.
