Marcus Ray Westphal went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on March 28, 2013 due to a decline in health from a traumatic injury suffered when he was nine years old.

Marcus was born on Aug. 13, 1992 to Scott and Marie Westphal of Manhattan. We ordered a blue-eyed baby and God gave him the bluest eyes ever! Marcus attended school in Manhattan where he graduated in May 2011. He enjoyed listening to music, watching his vast collection of movies, and listening to books. He also enjoyed giving his nieces and nephew rides in the wheelchair and watching them grow.

Marcus loved his family dearly and no one could make him laugh like his siblings. He is survived by his parents, Scott and Marie Westphal; sisters, Sarah (Dusty) Cardwell, Robyn (Levi) Richter, and Sarah Cohen; brother, Robert (Iesha) Westphal; nieces, Mecee and Jordyn Tyree and Fallon and Maddison Cardwell; and nephew, Levi Richter, all of Manhattan. Also surviving are maternal grandparents, Don and Jean Brenner; uncles, Steve Brenner (best friend), Larry Westphal, and Kelly Dale; aunts, Sally (Bob) Yadon, Mary Sue Brenner (Darrell Jensen), and Pat (Ray) Figgins; teammates, Sheri Simkins, Lindsey Anderson, Cathy Fisher, Kim Losasso, and Shawn Dahl (also dearest friend); and last but not least, his faithful companion, Blueberri. He was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Bob and Melvyce Westphal, and uncle, Mike Brenner, as well as dear friend, Alex Archer.

Marcus faced many challenges in his 20 years. He had the heart of a lion and was a warrior to the very end. You the man, Marcus. So go now and sing and dance and play every day some! We love you.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, April 1, 2013 at Manhattan Presbyterian Church. Interment will follow at Meadowview Cemetery.
