Margie Belle Ide, 90, passed away on June 4, 2008, at her home surrounded by her family. She was born on Nov. 3, 1917, in Little Rock, Ark., to Thomas Nathanal and Anna Lenora (Snapp) Flanagan.

Margie entered Ouachita College in Arkansas at 16 years old and earned a teaching credential, and years later earned her master's degree in education at San Jose State. She taught school for thirty years in San Jose before retiring.

Margie met Charles Ide at a USO dance, and three months later they were married in San Antonio, Texas. They celebrated 55 years of marriage together before Charles' death on Oct. 22, 2000.

The couple made their home in California before moving to Montana in 1997 to be with their daughter, Ellen and son-in-law, Greg.

Margie enjoyed playing the piano, attending Bible studies and reading her Bible.

She is survived by her daughter, Ellen (Greg) Erickson of Belgrade; sisters, Jewell (Marvin) Embry of Minneapolis, Minn.; sister-in-law, Elaine Flanagan of Tulsa, Okla.; grandchildren, Aleacia (Eric) Hinds of Denver, Colo.; David (Melody) Alvarez of Atascadero, Calif.; Ben (Anna) Erickson of New Richmond, Wis.; and Debi (Henry Revelez) Erickson of Puyallup, Wash. Great-grandchildren, Isabella and Gloria Hinds, Kody Alvarez, Isabelle and Amanda Erickson, Christian and Dane Erickson and Kaileigh Revelez, and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

Margie was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Thomas Eugene Flanagan and Delford Nathan Flanagan; and niece, Anne Edythe Embry.

The family would like to thank Charlene Sizemore for her loving care and concern during Margie's final weeks.

A private family memorial service will be held.
