Marie "Red" Reiser, 81, passed away on Tuesday, June 5, 2007, in Bozeman.
She was born on Feb. 5, 1926, in Giltner, Neb., to Ed and Ruth (Bucher) Reiser. She was the third of six children.
The family moved to the Gallatin Valley in 1937 where Red attended and graduated from Gallatin County High School in 1943. She lived on the family ranch near Gallatin Gateway and was a substitute rural mail carrier. She was employed by Summit Engineering Co from 1970 until her retirement in 1991.
She enjoyed watching and participating in several different sports, excelling in bowling, softball, basketball and horseback riding. She was inducted into the first Bozeman Bowling Hall of Fame, and had a career high score of 288. Gardening, sewing and her grandchildren were her main interests in later years.
Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Lori and Mark Kottwitz of Bozeman; grandchildren, Amy, Alyssa, Ashley and Max Kottwitz of Bozeman; sister, Jean and husband, Don Brenner of Manhattan; brother, Bob and wife, Theresa Reiser of Townsend; sister-in-law, Ginger Reiser of Belgrade; brother-in-law, Edward Hinman of Bozeman; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Jackie and Don; and her sister, Dorothy Hinman.
Private graveside services will be held on Friday.
The family invites everyone to a reception at 4:30 p.m. Friday, June 8, at the Bozeman Senior Center.
