Marjorie Darlene Christensen, "Margie" as she was known by her friends, passed away on Aug. 1, 2009. She had been in failing health for a long time.
The Guest Book is expired.
Margie was born on Nov. 25, 1925, in La Junta, Colo., the 10th of 11 children. At a young age, with the loss of her parents, the family was scattered in orphanages. Bert and Helen Walker adopted her and she was raised in Chicago. She was later able to connect with her missing brothers and sisters and they maintained contact for the rest of their lives.
She fell in love with southwest Montana and decided to move to Dillon where she met the love of her life, Harry Christensen. They were married in February 1946 in Butte. They lived in California for a while but moved back to Dillon in 1949. They adopted three children. Margie enjoyed camping, cooking, and travel with her husband. She also loved to play pinochle with her friends. She was active in her church and with senior citizens until failing health made that impossible.
She is survived by her sons, Harry Christensen Jr. (Diane), Ernie Christensen; and her daughter, Emby Davich (Mike). She also has several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her family was very important to her and she was very proud of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Her family wants to thank the Parkview Acres Care and Rehab Center for their kind and loving care that they provided her during the last chapter of her life.
As Margie requested, only a graveside service was held Wednesday, Aug. 5, at Mountain View Cemetery.
