The Guest Book is expired.
On June 13, 2015, Martin Walter Stevens, known as "Budha" by most, passed away at the age of 55. Born in Lynwood, California, Budha had been a Montana resident for the last five years. For the majority of that time, he owned and operated his own business, Budha's Pilot Car. Before that, he work for Sammons Trucking, based out of Alaska, for nine years. At the time of his passing, Budha resided in Belgrade, Montana, and worked as a driver for Greater Valley Taxi.
Budha will be remembered for his jovial nature and generous spirit. He had a passion for body art and would often proudly show off his abundant ink work. Usually prompted by his favorite question, "Why do they call you Budha?" His outgoing personality made him well-known in many social circles, and he enjoyed bringing laughter to those around him. He was a member of the Eagles Club in Bozeman, which he enjoyed attending, and was a frequent patron of JR's in Belgrade. When asked if there was anything he wanted to do before his time was up, his reply was simple, "No, I've done what I want in my life. That's enough for me."
Budha is survived by his daughter, Amber Shin; his three grandchildren, Mason, Liam and Izaak Shin; his closest friends, Kristy, Mike, Dave, Sandie and Candi; and all of his extended family at Greater Valley Taxi.
He is preceded in death by his father, Dolan Stevens, and his mother, Mary Stevens.
At Budha's request, no formal services will be held. Instead, a Celebration of Life will be held at JR's Lounge in Belgrade beginning at 6 p.m. on the evening of Wednesday, July 8. All are welcome to join us in remembering and celebrating the life of "Budha" Martin Stevens.
