Mary Alice Yeley, 81, loving wife, mother and grandmother, of Bozeman, peacefully went to heaven Friday, Sept. 18, 2009. Mary was born April 11, 1928, in Marshall, Ill., to Otto and Anna Crumrin.

She met the love of her life, Warren Yeley, while in high school. They dated for seven years before getting married in Roseville, Ill., on July 22, 1950. After their marriage, the couple moved to Washington, D.C., where their first son, Bob, was born. They left Washington, D.C., and moved to East Chicago, where their second son, Mike, was born. Soon after Mike was born, they packed up and headed west to Denver, Colo. While living in Denver they yearned for a place to call home. They pulled out a map and hooked on a U-haul trailer in search of that place. They settled in Bozeman in May 1956. Their third son, Marc, was born in Bozeman. Many remember seeing Mary at Williams Texaco and later at Century 21 Summit Realty.

Both Mary and Warren were active in the community in many ways. Mary enjoyed square dancing and dressing up for the Formal Dance Club. She also enjoyed RVing around the United States and even Mexico. Several trips were to family reunions in Illinois, up the inland waterway to Alaska and down to the Everglades in Florida. On many trips, they loaded up the grandkids and were off to California and Victoria, British Columbia.

As an avid Bobcat fan, you would see her at many of the games and hosting football players at her house for Monday night football dinners. Her interest in sports didn't begin with the Bobcats. She loved the St. Louis Cardinals and Chicago Bears with a passion. A new passion that Mary enjoyed was Wii bowling and was part of a league at Aspen Pointe. She recently placed third in the Gallatin Valley Mall Wii bowling tournament.

Mary was a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, an organization dedicated to service in their community. The symbol for the sorority is a yellow rose. Her pledge date to the sorority was September 1957, and she received the Golden Circle Award for 50 consecutive active years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Warren Yeley; her parents; sisters, Gene Orndorff, Marge Butts, Dee Reschan; brothers, Bob Crumrin and Herb Crumrin; and grandson, Brandon Yeley.

Mary is survived by her sister, Anna Eldredge of Paris, Ill.; brother, Dale Crumrin of Marshall, Ill.; sons, Bob (Jeanne) and Marc (MaryKay) of Bozeman, and Mike (Debbie) of Jefferson City Mo.; grandchildren, Sami, Chris, and Colter of Bozeman, Sean of Missoula, Nick (Melissa) of Chula Vista, Calif.; and great-grandchildren, Laila and Warren.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 24, at Evangelical Free Church.
