Mary Elizabeth Lee, 91, of Bozeman passed away March 22, 2012. Mary was born July 16, 1920 in Simms to John and Mary (Tallman) Greer. A farm girl from Simms, in school she was active in sports, and entertained the community by singing favorite songs and hymns at hometown gatherings.

Following graduation from Simms High School, Mary was enrolled at Bellingham University, Washington, to study music prior to her return to Montana where she pursued and received her teaching degree in education at Montana State University-Northern in Havre. Mary spent the next three years teaching students of varied ages and grades in the Montana one-room schools of Dupuyer, Valier, and Fairfield.

In 1943, Mary married her high school sweetheart, Don G. Lee, of Sun River. Together, the couple had seven children, to whom Mary joyfully dedicated her life. May was the chief cook and bottle washer not only for her family, but for those who would stop in for a chat and a bite to eat. Whether she was giving care to and visiting friends, volunteering at church, watching stock car races, fixing food for a picnic, or going for drives in the country, her commitment to others' needs was an important priority to Mary.

Mary is survived by her daughter, Susan (Pat) Teague; sons, Kelly (Bonnie) Lee, Robert (Joyce) Lee, Clyde (Andrea) Lee, and Mac (Dianna) Lee; 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; sister, Emma Jean (Rex) Woods; brother, James A. (Kay) Greer; and many nieces and nephews who she dearly loved.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Don; daughter, Patricia Diane Lee; son, William Roger Lee; brother, Ray Greer; brother, John Greer; and her parents.

Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m on Sunday, March 25, 2012 at Dokken-Nelson Funeral Service. Interment at Sunset Hills Cemetery at 12:30 p.m. on Monday, March 26, 2012 will precede funeral services, which will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Bozeman United Methodist Church. A reception will follow immediately at the church. Further celebration of Mary's life will continue at the family residence of Clyde and Andrea Lee.
