Mary G. Healow was born in Bozeman on June 17, 1918 to Harold and Julia (Olson) McLees. She grew up in the Madison Valley. She attended a one-room school before graduating from Manhattan High School. Mary attended Billings Business College and in 1941 married Robert E. Healow. They raised six children in Billings where Bob worked in the trucking industry and Mary was a homemaker. In the 1970s Mary worked at Coles Department Store.

Mary was a gifted seamstress and a great baker. She loved to play bridge, dance, and exercise. She was an upbeat, positive, people-person. Upon retirement, Mary and Bob moved to Surprise, Ariz. They loved it there and created many great friendships. Bob died in 1992. Mary moved back to Billings in 1997. In 2005 she moved to Gallatin Rest Home in Bozeman. She died Feb. 10, 2012.
Mary is survived by daughters, Patricia Roberts, Michal Gilpin, and Pamela Thane; sons, John and Tim Healow, and their families, including 19 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Bob and her youngest daughter, Barbara Peterson.
Mass of the Resurrection will be 10 a.m. March 3 at Holy Rosary Parish in Bozeman. Interment will be July 28 at Mountain View Cemetery in Billings.
The family will be forever grateful for the loving care provided by the Gallatin Rest Home staff.
