Mary Louise "Lou" Houser, 71, of Bozeman, passed away Nov. 27, 2009, at Bozeman Deaconess Hospital. She was born Nov. 25, 1938, in Butte, to William David and Mary Jane (Carlson) Crowley.
The Guest Book is expired.
She was raised on a ranch near the Madison River with her parents and three siblings. She went to school in Three Forks and then went to college to become a nurse. While in college, she met and married her first husband; they later divorced. They had four boys together.
While working as a nurse at Bozeman Deaconess Hospital, she met and married Steve Houser, a wonderful man who was a great husband, father and mentor and the love of her life. They were married April 13, 1972, in West Yellowstone.
We feel blessed with her strength, wisdom and most of all, her loving smile.
Lou enjoyed bowling, camping, playing bridge, knitting and taking pictures.
She was preceded in death by three sons, Tony, Mike and Joel; and her father, William.
Survivors include her husband, Steve of Bozeman; her son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Patty Howard of Belgrade; daughter-in-laws, Kay Howard of Helena and Jenny Howard of Hamilton; grandchildren, Brittni Howard, Krista Howard, Siena Howard, Phoebe Howard, Stephanie Howard and Nicholas Howard; great-grandchild, Kareena Howard Hancock; her mother, Mary Crowley of Soquel, Calif.; her siblings, Virginia (Ken) Sullivan of Soquel, Calif., Bill (Ellen) Crowley of Vancouver, Wash., Carol (Gus) Wanner of Knoxville, Tenn.; and special relative, Kay Nokes of Bend, Ore.
