Longtime Bozeman resident, Nancy Brown, 79, passed away peacefully on Tuesday. Nancy was born in Utah in 1934 to Gladys and Henry Brown.

She was preceded in death by brothers, Rex and Hal, who both served in the military. She graduated in California and then moved to Boise, Idaho, where she began a successful career in banking working her way up from a teller to an auditor of over 25 banks in southern California.
In 1977, Nancy took a ferry up the Alaskan coast and made the decision to move to Montana where she had many fond family memories of Hebgen Lake and Yellowstone Park. She resided in Bozeman and was hired by the Clerk & Recorder's Office in 1978 beginning in administration and in 1983, took the Chief Deputy Clerk & Recorder position. She was a familiar fixture there until her retirement in 1999.
Nancy is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Melody and David Yaggy; granddaughters, Emily Yaggy, Nicole Yaggy Hamilton; and grandson, Nick Hamilton.

Nancy will be greatly missed and remembered with love for her quick wit and love of dogs. In lieu of flowers, Nancy requested donating to Heart of the Valley Humane Society, PO Box 11390, Bozeman, MT 59771.
