Norton Duane Smith, 58, of Bozeman, passed away unexpectedly on June 16, 2009. He was born on March 10, 1951, in Livingston to Norton and Gladys (Scollard) Smith.
Norton served in the U.S. Army for four years.

He married Penny Keyser in 1979 and they were blessed with a beautiful daughter, Sabrina. Norton enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, hunting and camping, as well as putting car models together. Norton was employed by the Gallatin Valley Mall for the past 7 ½ years.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Penny.

Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law Sabrina and George McVey; grandchildren Keyser, Aiden and Talia McVey; four sisters, Virginia Hoppe of Gresham, Ore., Barbara (Dave) Parsons of Belgrade, Lorretta (Allen) Zabel of Helena and Evelyn Smith of East Helena; nephews Ron of Missoula, Jeff and Mike Parsons both of Belgrade, Ron and Don Tibke of East Helena, Shawn (Tracy) Zabel of Granite Falls, Wash., and Kim (Adam) Clement of McKinney, Texas.

Norton, you will be deeply missed by all those who loved you. We loved you with all our hearts.

Norton requested no formal services. A gathering to celebrate his life will be held at a later date.
