Olive M. Meister passed away June 20, 2011. She was born on Feb. 21, 1918, in Washburn, Wis., to Henry and Lena (Elden) Thompson. She was one of 12 children.

She graduated from Milwaukee County Hospital School of Nursing on June 4, 1940, and spent the next 35 years working at Lakeland Hospital at Elkhorn, Wis.
She married Herbert A. Meister on Nov. 17, 1945, at First Evangelical Church in Lake Geneva, Wis. Their union produced two children: first a daughter, then a son. Herbert preceded her in death on Oct. 20, 1992.
"Tommy," as she preferred to be called, had many friends, loved to shop and go out to eat, and loved to work in her garden while she was able. She resided at Park Haven in Manhattan for the last two and a half years.
She is survived by one brother, Donald Thompson of Rhinelander, Wis.; a daughter, Phyllis M. Kreatz of Reed Point; and a son, Steven H. Meister of Belgrade.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to Shining Mountain Evangelical Lutheran Church. 325 N. 25th Ave., Bozeman, MT.
A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, June 23, at Dokken-Nelson Sunset Chapel. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park.
