Patricia Jane Dickman, 80, passed on peacefully Jan. 2, 2008, at St. John's Nursing Home in Billings.

Jane was born Nov. 8, 1927, in Bozeman to Max and Teresa Howell. She grew up in the Gallatin Valley and graduated from Belgrade High School as class salutatorian. Jane attended Montana State University and while there was a member of the Pi Beta Phi sorority.
She married Charles H. Dickman in June 1952. They were later divorced.
Jane worked as a bookkeeper, with Montana State University being her primary employer. She was always proud that she could "balance."
She loved to knit and did so with a passion. Her children and grandchildren all had afghans, sweaters, hats, mittens, and even dresses.
Jane was preceded in death by her parents and her four siblings.
She is survived by her two daughters, Terri A. Smith of Billings and Debbi Supola of Bozeman; seven grandchildren and one great-grandson.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 5, at the Ocee Johnson Chapel at St. John's in Billings.
