Peggy Voorhees passed away on Sunday, Feb. 22, 2015, in Bozeman.
The Guest Book is expired.
Peggy grew up in Whitewater, Wisconsin. At 16 years old, she married her first husband, Randy, who shortly after served a tour in Viet Nam. They had had 2 children; Kim and Kevin. Peggy and Randy later divorced.
Peggy then moved to Minneapolis to attend nursing school. Upon finishing school, she moved to Montana to be with her sister, Janet, and worked at Bair's Truck Stop in Belgrade as a cook. One year later, she met Tom Voorhees. They married and enjoyed more than 34 years together.
Peggy loved animals, found a job at the Humane Society in Bozeman, where she worked her way up to Director. Peggy was also great with people and could handle any situation that arose, and was also the nicest person on earth. Peggy would do anything for anyone; she would lend her car to friends and walk everywhere just so they had transportation. Peggy was also the most honest person in the world, with a lovely sense of humor. She loved dogs and her favorite was Cypress, an Irish Wolfhound/St. Bernard cross who was an exceptional dog. Peggy was like the Dr. Doolittle of animals; they all loved her.
She is survived by her husband, Tom, and her two children, Kim and Kevin. Donations in Peggy's name can be made to the Heart of the Valley Humane Society.
Arrangements are in the care of Dokken-Nelson Funeral Service. www.dokkennelson.com.
