Richard "Dick" A. Morris, 75, of Helena died of cancer Oct. 24, 2009, at St. Peters Hospital.

Dick was born in Missoula to A.J. and Sadie Morris. He attended school in Missoula and joined the Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict.
When he was discharged from the service, he started working at Mountain Bell, where he retired in 1987 after 30 years of service. Dick enjoyed his retirement years, traveling to Parker, Ariz., and the Oregon Coast.
Dick was a longstanding member of the Gallatin Mason Lodge No. 6 of Bozeman.
He is survived by his wife, Sara of Helena; sons, Jim (Arlana) of Everett, Wash., and Rich of Bozeman, and grandchildren, Miranda, Brittnay and Dustin Morris of Bozeman; daughters, Rhonda (John) Schaffer and Karen Lindquist of Helena, and grandchildren, Tyler (Jessica) Pipinich, Shelby Schaffer, Jake and Miranda Prevel, all of Helena; and one great-granddaughter, McKenna Pipinich.
Dick was preceded in death by his parents and siblings.
At Dick's request, there will be no formal memorial services. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 28, at the Montana State Veterans Cemetery at Fort Harrison.
