Richard Krieg, 77, passed away on Aug. 30, 2008, in Bozeman. He was born on June 20, 1931, in Fargo, N.D., to Bernhardt and Ruth Krieg.

He graduated from NDSU in engineering, and later married Barbara (Kline) Krieg in August 1953.
He served in the U.S. Air Force and was stationed in Texas and Labrador, Newfoundland. After returning, he joined the family general contracting business, J.E. Krieg and Sons with his father, uncle and cousin. His sons followed him in the business and together were responsible for several institutional buildings at NDSU and throughout North Dakota.
He enjoyed hunting throughout his life and spent many family trips in Montana hunting and camping. Summers were spent at Lake McDonald where he enjoyed sailing. He retired in 1992 and moved to Bozeman shortly after.
He is preceded in death by his eldest daughter, Cynthia Krieg; brother, Gene Krieg; and his parents.
He is survived by his former wife, Barbara Krieg; and their children, Kristin (Rick) Perry of Evansville, Ind.; Guy Krieg of Fargo, N.D.; Jed (DeAnn) Krieg of Fargo, N.D.; Rebecca Krieg of St. Paul, Minn.; Amy (Tim) Stefan of Bozeman; Melissa Borgen of Fargo, N.D.; John Krieg of Johnstown, Colo.; Matthew (Sandy) Krieg of Colbert, Wash.; 13 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Private services will be held at a later date.
