Robert "Bob" Ralph Teague Sr., 84, passed away on Aug. 28, 2007, at Mountainview Medical Center in White Sulphur Springs. He died of natural causes with his wife by his side.

Bob was born to Harriet Eudora O'Neil and Edward Richard Teague on March 5, 1923, in White Sulphur Spring. He was a third-generation rancher on Camas Creek west of White Sulphur Springs nestled in the middle of the Big Belt Mountains.

Bob graduated from White Sulphur Springs High School in 1941.

Born and raised to work on the family ranch, Bob married Nellie Elizabeth Sibley on July 4, 1945. Bob and Nellie raised five children together: Bobby, Kenny, Pat, Duck and Martha. A romantic at heart, he never failed to pick his wife colorful spring wildflowers to sit on her table.

During their life together, they hosted numerous hunters as members of the Montana Outfitters Association. Bob and his sons aided in stocking Camas Lake with cutthroat trout and introducing mountain goats to the Big Belts.

Experienced in all aspects of ranching, Bob spent many dedicated years breeding and raising cattle and especially enjoyed running the iron at the family brandings. One of his preferred ranching responsibilities was digging in the dirt during farming season with his old International crawlers.

Throughout his life, Bob collected guns of all calibers and spent many hours traveling to gun shows in neighboring counties. A horseback rider in his younger days, he also enjoyed hunting game of all sizes and often took time to put a fish in the frying pan.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother and sister-in-law, Neil and Irene Teague.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Nellie; four sons, Robert "Bob" Richard (Joanne) of Clyde Park, Kenneth Lee (Teresa) of the family ranch, Charles "Pat" Patrick (Sue) of Belgrade, and Donald "Duck" Wayne (Kristy) of Helena, and daughter, Martha Ann of East Helena. Bob is also survived by three grandsons, Jim, Chad and Camas; five granddaughters, Sarah, Jennifer, Annie, Becky and DawnRae; two step-grandsons, three step-granddaughters and seven great-grandchildren.

Cremation has taken place upon Bob's wishes, and arrangements were made by Twichel Funeral Home.

A community gathering and coffee hour in honor of Bob Teague's long life will be held at the Meagher County Community Center on Wednesday, Sept. 5, from 2 to 4 p.m. Family members will gather in a private ceremony on the Teague family ranch homestead to scatter his ashes at a later date.
